The Butler community mourned the passing of a young child last night after he died from a rare cancer.
11-year-old Aiden Bartley passed away Wednesday evening according to his family.
Bartley was diagnosed with metastatic pancreatic adenocarcinoma in 2022. That form of cancer is usually seen in adults and not children, making it difficult for his family to find proper treatment.
Many in the community followed Aiden’s battle on social media, where his family provided updates over the last two years.
Last night, the community gathered in partnership with Riding for the Cure to hold a candlelight vigil for Aiden at the Sons of Italy in Butler.
