The Pitt men’s basketball team fell to #19-ranked Wisconsin 81-75 last night in the Greenbrier Classic in West Virginia. Pitt jumped out to an early 14-2 lead, and led 34-27 at the half, but got into foul trouble late and the Badgers surged to take the lead late in the second half. Wisconsin improved to 7-0. The Panthers are 6-1. They had defeated LSU 74-63 Friday afternoon in the tournament opener. Pitt will visit Ohio State Friday afternoon.
The South Carolina women’s basketball team lost for the first time in 44 games Sunday, when the defending national champs were knocked off by UCLA 77-62. The Gamecocks lost for the first time since the 2023 Final Four, ending a program-record 43-game winning streak.
