A Butler man is facing charges after threating to take hostages in a Butler convenience store.
In early November, police were called to the 7/11 on East Jefferson Street after a man threated an employee that he was intending to take the store hostage.
The employee then sent the store into lockdown, contacted police, and alerted a nearby store to also go into lockdown. When police arrived on scene, the man had left the premises.
Police would eventually identify the suspect as 37-year-old Bryan Hurley. He was walking along East Jefferson Street and was taken into custody.
He was charged with terroristic threats, evading arrest, and disorderly conduct. Hurly is awaiting a preliminary hearing.
