Drug and alcohol treatment providers can now have access to new licenses that will allow treatment via telehealth.
The Pennsylvania Department of Drug and Alcohol Program announced new telehealth-only licenses that can treat substance use disorder.
This license will not require a physical location to practice and only applies to treatment providers in Pennsylvania.
To be approved for this license a provider must
- Maintain client records on a web-based electronic health record program.
- Maintain an electronic system for personnel files, including training records.
- Agree to provide DDAP remote access to the facility files and client records at any time access is requested
These new licenses are done so in an effort to expand access to treatment in rural communities.
