A Cranberry man has been placed in the Butler County Prison after he allegedly had child sex abuse material on his personal devices.
Police have charged 48-year-old Charles Bennett of Cranberry after several ChildLine reports indicated he had inappropriate images of children.
After police verified that IP addresses connected to Bennett’s address police went to interview him but he declined. Bennett’s devices were then seized and a forensic examination show he had over 650 files of child abuse material and 1,700 files of child exploitative materials.
These are the current pieces of evidence available in the compliant but according to police there are more items that have not been analyzed and further charges may come at a later date.
Williams is facing 103 counts of child pornography and is currently being held on $25,000 bail in the Butler County Prison with a preliminary hearing on Jan. 3.
