The Butler City Police Department will be getting two more new vehicles in the near future.
Butler City Council has approved the purchase of two 2025 Ford Interceptor 4-door all wheel drive SUVs for nearly $91,000 from Laurel Auto Group.
Those vehicles are currently at IbisTek, where the city will pay nearly $30,000 for the vehicles to be upfitted for police use. This money will come from the proceeds of the sale of BASA assets.
It is anticipated that those vehicles will be ready for use by the department by May. According to Chief Bob O’Neill, this will result in a 2018 vehicle being the oldest in the nine-vehicle fleet.
