State health officials are encouraging local municipalities to apply for funding that would create opportunities for residents to engage in physical activity.
According to the Pennsylvania Department of Health, WalkWorks Active Transportation Planning Program grants totaling $300,000 are available to improve public spaces.
This program encourages connecting local destinations with improved pedestrian, bicycle, ADA accessibility, and transit networks.
A one hour webinar is planned for today (2/4) at noon to review the application process. The deadline to submit an application is March 21st with grants awarded in June. Visit the Department of Health’s website for more information.
