Buffalo quarterback Josh Allen has won the Associated Press NFL Most Valuable Player award, which was announced during the NFL Honors ceremony in New Orleans last night. Allen edged Baltimore quarterback Lamar Jackson in the closest voting since 2016, when Matt Ryan beat out Tom Brady. Allen also becomes the first player in over 20 years to win the award without being selected first-team All-Pro.
Eagles running back Saquon Barkley was named the Offensive Player of the Year. Denver cornerback Patrick Surtain II was named the Defensive Player of the Year.
Minnesota head coach Kevin O’Connell was named Coach of the Year.
Tight end Antonio Gates, defensive end Jared Allen, cornerback Eric Allen and wide receiver Sterling Sharpe were voted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in the smallest induction class in 20 years. They will be honored August 2nd in Canton, Ohio.
