A woman from Ellwood City is out thousands after an online hacker was able to access personal information.
State police say the victim recently found out that her email account had been compromised. The scammer was able to get her personal information and gained access to accounts in her name.
They manipulated the accounts and charged credit cards for approximately $4,500.
State police say it’s important to change your online passwords frequently and use two-factor authentication when available.
