There’s still time for local residents to participate in an activity marking George Washington’s trip through Butler County that happened over 270 years ago.
The Cherry Pie Hike is an annual tradition held near Washington’s Birthday. Multiple hikes are scheduled throughout Saturday at the Jennings Environmental Center beginning at 9 a.m.
The Cherry Pie Hike takes visitors back to Washington’s journey through Butler County in 1753 along what is now the North Country Trail as he worked his way from Virginia to Fort LeBoeuf in Erie.
There are still a few spots available to participate but registration is required before tomorrow. Interested participants can visit the Jennings Environmental Center website to learn more.
