The Knoch School District is joining a lawsuit that seeks to undo antidiscrimination protections for gay and transgender people.
The Associated Press reports that Knoch was joined by South Side Area in Beaver County in the suit that argues the state’s two-year-old regulation is illegal because it goes beyond the intended law.
If the suit is successful, the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission would not be allowed to investigate complaints of discrimination involving sexual orientation, gender identity and expression.
State Representative Aaron Bernstine is also a plaintiff in the suit.
