
The longtime leader of the Veterans office in Butler County has died.
John Cyprian passed away suddenly last Friday.
Cyprian was the Director of Veteran Services in Butler County for 25 years before his retirement in 2022.
In addition to helping veterans navigate government services, Cyprian also headed a project to bring the World War II monument to Diamond Park.
He was also involved with the non-profit Veterans In Need organization, which helped local veterans with housing.
A public viewing and time to pay final respects to John Cyprian will be held on Tuesday, April 22, and Wednesday, April 23, from 1:00–3:00 PM and 6:00–8:00 PM on both days at the Geibel Funeral Home, located at 201 E. Cunningham Street, Butler, PA. Military honors will be rendered at the funeral home on Wednesday at 8:00 PM. A Celebration of Life will follow on Thursday, April 24, beginning at 3:00 PM at American Legion Post 778, located at 150 Legion Memorial Lane.
