Another local municipality has been awarded a large amount of money to complete a wastewater construction project.
Evans City Water and Sewer Authority will receive nearly $2 million through the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (also known as PENNVEST), which awards money for major infrastructure improvement projects.
According to local lawmaker Stephenie Scialabba, the funding will allow the municipality to replace the Callery Pump Station, specifically a wet well, two submersible pumps, a control panel, an emergency generator, and one valve and metering vault. The project also includes about 500 feet of line to connect the new station with existing infrastructure.
PENNVEST provides grants and low interest loans for design, engineering, and construction of publicly and privately owned water distribution and treatment facilities, as well as stormwater and wastewater projects.
