Attorneys representing the man alleged to have killed a Butler Township child are asking that bail restrictions be removed.
Late last week attorneys for 39-year-old Joshua Rivera asked the court for Rivera to be released with nominal bail. Which would lower Rivera’s bail to a low amount.
The Pennsylvania law allows for someone to be granted nominal bail if they have been imprisoned for more than 180 days before their trial. Rivera trial is set to begin in early June, Rivera was charged in December 2023.
Rivera has been accused of hitting and killing 15-year-old Aiden Lutz in October 2023.
No word on when a ruling could be made.
Rivera is facing several charges including murder of the third degree, involuntary manslaughter, aggravated assault with a vehicle.
