The Pennsylvania State House has passed a resolution that will look at the impact of sports gambling and marketing.
The $10 billion industry brings in well over $500 million in tax dollars and sees $1 billion spent annually on marketing.
There has also been a 30 percent rise in gambling addiction since the Supreme Court legalized sports betting in 2018.
The house voted 189 to 14 to direct the Joint State Government Commission to analyze the impact of sports gambling marketing.
As well as provide recommendations on “ways to reduce problem gambling behaviors, gambling debt, and the exposure of children to sports betting advertisements.”
