The Karns City girl’s softball team fell 7-6 in 9-innings to St. Mary’s Monday in the District 9 Class 3A championship game. St. Mary’s won in a walk-off in the ninth inning after the Gremlins had taken a 6-5 lead in the top of the seventh inning. St. Mary’s tied the game in the bottom of the seventh to force extra-innings.
Seneca Valley and Norwin will meet for the WPIAL Class 6A baseball championship this afternoon. First pitch is 1pm at the home of the Washington Wild Things. Seneca Valley enters the game 16-6 this season. Norwin is 14-7. The Raiders enter the game on an eight-game winning streak. They are seeking their fifth WPIAL championship.
–Shaler and Pine-Richland play in the Class 5A championship at 7pm tonight.
