A Philadelphia woman is facing charges in Butler County after she allegedly stole $45,000 from a Butler County resident.
On April 25th, Adams Township Police heard from the victim of a theft that say happened in late 2024.
The victim says he reported the $45,000 stolen to Citizens Bank who reimbursed the victim after identifying the fraud. However, Citizens Bank is seeking restitution on the money.
Police used surveillance footage, PennDOT plate records, and banking records to connect the crime to 26-year-old Ashley Wilkerson.
Wilkerson allegedly traveled to three Citizen Banks in Philadelphia to withdraw the money by adding herself to the victim’s accounts, with a person acting as an imposter to the victim.
Wilkerson has been charged with access device fraud, theft by unlawful taking, and identity theft. She’s awaiting a preliminary hearing in Butler County.
