It’s a major anniversary for a longtime downtown Butler event.
The Butler Road Race celebrates its 50th year Saturday. The annual race includes a 2K and a 5-mile run.
The race begins at Diamond Park and heads north to Penn Street, where runners will make the turn to Butler Memorial Park.
City Police say Main Street will shut around 8:15 a.m. and remain closed until noon. Parking enforcement will start at 7 a.m.
Anyone interested in participating can register the day-of the event at the Diamond.
The Butler Road Race is organized by the YMCA in partnership with Independence Health System.
