Butler City Council is creating a new position to help with managing finances.
At their meeting Thursday night, Council approved an employment agreement for Certified Public Accountant Jason Ross to operate as the City’s Chief Financial Officer.
Ross will be paid $2,500 per month for approximately four to six hours to help with structuring budgeting and maximizing return for the investment of funds the city received from the sale of BASA assets. He will report directly to Council and not be in charge of any city employees.
Ross previously consulted for the City in 2023 on the subject of choosing financial institutions to manage the investments.
