The City of Butler is moving forward with maintenance of a local waterway while still working on plans to address flooding.
Council recently voted to contract with Bauer Excavating in the amount of just over $33,000 to clean out the sediment in Sullivan Run.
This is routine work that’s done every couple of years on cleaning out the waterway but the exact date the work will take place this year has not yet been determined.
After recent heavy rains caused localized flooding in some areas, city officials are working with the city engineer to come up with a flood mitigation plan that is likely to be presented to Council later this year.
