Thanks to the Resilient Food Systems Infrastructure Grant Program, a couple of local farms will receive federal funding.
Marburger Farm Dairy will receive an infrastructure grant of just over $207,000 to construct cold storage to support dairy product expansion, benefiting 65 small local farms.
Also, Frankferd Farms Milling has been awarded an equipment only grant in the amount of nearly $23,000 to upgrade milling and bagging equipment to increase product lines and packaging efficiency.
The objective of this money is to increase capacity, drive growth, and provide opportunities throughout Pennsylvania’s food supply chain.
77 Pennsylvania farms and food manufacturers have been awarded a total of $21 million.
