A new report shows that roads and bridges around Pittsburgh are still in need of improvement.
The study conducted by TRIP found that 38 percent of roads in counties in Southwestern PA are in poor condition. Butler County also shared that number of 38 percent of roads in poor condition. However, the county also shared the top spot of 21 percent of roads in excellent condition.
As for bridges, Butler County has 60 that were listed in poor condition. A majority of bridges are in fair or excellent condition.
TRIP officials say the lack of transportation funding and evolving transportation demands are leading to declining conditions on local roads.
