An Evans City man has been charged for allegedly driving under the influence with a child in his vehicle and causing an accident that sent one person to the hospital.
On May 28, police were called to the 500 block of Herman Road for a head-on two vehicle accident. One driver was transported to Butler Memorial Hospital for their injuries.
The driver of the other vehicle, 43-year-old Edward Giorgetti and the child in his vehicle were evaluated on scene.
During the investigation, police say Giorgetti was slurring his speech and had an open bottle of alcohol in his vehicle. Giorgetti failed a sobriety test and was found to have a blood alcohol level over three times the legal limit.
He was charged with a DUI and endangering the welfare of children, a preliminary hearing has been scheduled for July 30.
