After more than a decade of excellence at the helm of the Saint Vincent College women’s basketball program, Head Coach Jimmy Petruska has announced his resignation. Petruska, a 2004 Saint Vincent graduate, was named the second head coach in the history of the women’s basketball program at Saint Vincent College in 2011, replacing legendary Head Coach Kristen Zawacki, the lone coach in the program’s 27-year history, who tragically passed away in December 2010.
Over his 15 seasons, he amassed over 230 career victories, led the Bearcats to four PAC regular-season championships, and captured the program’s first-ever PAC Tournament title in 2019, earning a berth in the NCAA Division III Tournament. St. Vincent also won the PAC title in 2022-23 and reached the NCAA tournament again.
Petruska was recently inducted into the Mars High School Athletic Hall of Fame. He is the son of Butler County Sports Hall of Famer and legendary area basketball coach Dana Petruska
