An Evans City woman has been charged for being over the legal limit while driving with a child in her vehicle.
On June 26, police were alerted that 53-year-old Maya Boggess had gotten into a crash Evans City Road while she was allegedly under the influence.
When police arrived, Boggess fled the scene. Police then went to her home, where she admitted to driving and having two shots of vodka that day.
After completing sobriety tests, police placed Boggess under arrest and completed a search. A THC vape was found and police say Boggess said she does not have a medical marijuana card.
Police also interviewed the child, who admitted to being in the car with Boggess and seeing her drink alcohol before the alleged crash.
A blood test showed Boggess blood alcohol level was .278, over three times the legal limit.
She was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and several DUI related charges.
