A Butler man has been charged with a felony after it’s alleged he injured a police officer.
On June 16, it’s alleged a vehicle driven by 42-year-old Anthony Kopas pulled up next to a police vehicle and began yelling at the officer in the vehicle.
Kopas was asking about harassment one of his children are an alleged victim. The officer asked Kopas to calm down and provide his information but Kopas declined then continued to argue with the officer.
The officer then asked Kopas to exit the vehicle before the officer attempted to physically remove him. At this point Kopas began to roll up his car window breaking the window and injuring of the officer. The officer then arrested Kopas and placed him in custody.
Kopas is facing several charges such as aggravated assault, resisting arrest, and obstruction of the administration of law. He’s awaiting a preliminary hearing.
