A Hilliard’s woman is facing charges after its alleged she sent another woman to the hospital after a verbal argument.
Police were called to 100 block of Hillard’s Road on Saturday just before 6:30 p.m. for a woman laying on the ground with a head injury.
When police arrived on scene the woman was laying on the ground with a large pool of blood around her head. The victim claims that she had gotten into an argument with 50-year-old Velma Weckerly as Weckerly was driving.
After Weckerly drove past she turned around, continued the argument, got out of her vehicle, and pushed the victim to the ground. The fall caused a laceration to the back of the victim’s head. The victim was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital and suffered a suspected concussion.
Weckerly was charged with simple assault and aggravated assault. She was let go for nonmonetary bail as she awaits an August 5 preliminary hearing.
