The Slippery Rock School District will file an appeal in the Commonwealth Court against the reinstatement of a principal.
Earlier this week school board members voted in favor to appeal a decision made by the Pennsylvania Secretary of Education to reinstate Dr. Kristie Shulsky as principal at Moraine Elementary.
Shulsky was fired as principal in April 2024 after school district officials accused her of misconduct and coming into work intoxicated. But during the discovery phase of the investigation several people testified they did not believe Shulsky had consumed alcohol.
In July, then interim Secretary of Education Dr. Carrie Rowe ruled in favor of Shulsky saying there was not enough evidence to relieve her of duties.
That decision will now be challenged in Commonwealth Court.
