The Knoch High School construction project remains on schedule as teachers and administrators get ready to welcome students.
According to an update from Superintendent Dr. David Foley to the board Wednesday night, the work being accomplished will present “great learning opportunities” for students this year.
Board members also approved several change orders at their meeting totaling nearly $10,000 to install wood trim around some windows, produce signage at the entrance to the shop area, and upsize an elevator power feed.
Additional discussion took place regarding the code mandated addition of stairs to the left of the stage in the auditorium. A recent meeting of administration with designers and construction managers did not finalize a solution or cost but the size of the wall will be minimized and the possibility of a glass wall investigated.
Board members will tour the completed spaces the morning of August 25th with a public open house and ribbon cutting planned for September 2nd around 5 p.m.
