The public is invited to get a closer look at personal finance materials and Latin textbooks for students in the Butler Area School District.
At their Monday night meeting, the Butler Area School Board approved placing new online materials from Business U for 10th graders taking a half-year Financial Literacy course on display by computer kiosk at the district administration office for 30 days before final approval.
This is a new requirement from the state under Act 35 beginning next year. The curriculum chosen is over and above requirements including simulations of various financial situations students will encounter as they begin to join the workforce.
The district is also taking advantage of a decision by North Catholic to end their Latin program by accepting a donation of their Latin one to four textbooks which are also available for review by the public.
