It’s a great weekend to enjoy some outdoor activities at Moraine State Park.
First, a program about “Nature’s Tricksters” will take place on Saturday from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. at Pavilion 7 of the McDanels Launch Area. Park staff will share more about local plants and animals that mimic or deceive in order to survive.
Then, a Serene Stargazing gathering is planned for Sunday night from 9 to 9 p.m. at the Lakeview Beach Area on the North Shore of Moraine. Park staff will help participants learn how to spot a few planets and constellations. Those planning to attend should bring a lawn chair or blanket as well as bug spray. No smoking, flashlights, light-up toys, or cell phones at this free event.
