Nominations for trail of the year have officially opened in Pennsylvania.
The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources have opened nominations for 2026 Trail of the Year, with over 14,000 miles of trails having a chance to win.
Trails need to be submitted online by October 31.
The DCNR also announced the Armstrong Trail has now been added to the list of top 10 trail gaps in the state.
This list signifies the top trails that have a large gap that the DCNR are looking to complete. The Armstrong Trail has a quarter of a mile gap in the Kiski Junction area.
