A Boston man has been charged with harassing, threatening, and stalking a local mayor.
Police have filed charges against 36-year-old Todd Hogue of Boston, Massachusetts for allegedly harassing Slippery Rock Mayor Jondavid Longo and his family.
Hogue has been accused of sharing the Mayor’s home address over 15 times on public posts.
In June, Longo filed a report with Slippery Rock Police after a Facebook account alleged to have been connected to Hogue was “continuously posting harassing comments, and attempting to interact with [Longo’s] family and friends.”
Hogue is alleged to have posted Longo’s address and had been aggressive with the mayor and his followers over their political beliefs.
A month later Longo shared Facebook messages with police that show the alleged Facebook account connected to Hogue threatening Longo’s family and sharing an obituary from a woman as the same name as Longo saying “too bad this isn’t your wife.”
Weeks later Hogue is accused of creating a fake Facebook account of Longo attempting to start arguments and “make [the mayor] look bad.”
Police would eventually discover that Longo knew the Hogue family as they grew up across the street from each other.
Hogue was connected to the crime though his digital footprint, IP address, and phone records. He has been charged with stalking, two counts of endangerment of public safety official, terroristic threats, and harassment.
Hogue is awaiting a preliminary in Slippery Rock.
