A Boston man is responding to charges of harassing, threatening, and stalking a local mayor.
Last week, police filed charges against 36-year-old Todd Hogue of Boston, Massachusetts for statements made about his former neighbor, Slippery Rock Mayor Jondavid Longo and his family.
In a statement issued by his lawyer Jennifer Gilliland Vanasdale, Hogue states that he is a victim of Longo’s “abusive and hateful rhetoric”. The statement goes on to say that Longo “may have abused his position as Mayor of Slippery Rock…by seeking selective prosecution based on First Amendment speech”.
Hogue was connected to the alleged threatening statements though his digital footprint, IP address, and phone records. He has been charged with stalking, two counts of endangerment of public safety official, terroristic threats, and harassment.
