As the budget impasse continues, lawmakers in the state senate have passed a budget that is unlikely to advance in the house.
The $47.9 billion funding bill passed along party lines. There was an estimated $3 billion cut to education, and was far off the over $51 billion bill that passed in the state house.
Several Democratic house members have already said the bill is dead on arrival.
The house will not return to session until Monday but the senate although not in session are in Harrisburg and ready to gather if needed for a vote.
