Gas prices have increased both locally as well as across the western Pennsylvania region as a whole over the past week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve gas in Butler, as of yesterday, rose by 7 cents to reach $3.38 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole increased by four cents to $3.36. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Clarion at $2.97, while the most expensive is in Warren at $3.60.
The average national gas price rose by two cents over the past week to reach $3.05. This is eight cents less than a month ago as well as eight cents less than one year ago. Demand for gas remained event while the price of crude oil rose a bit over the past week.
