Independence Health System is promoting a current executive to a larger role.
Erica Shaffer was named the health system’s chief access officer and senior vice president of post-acute care.
In that role, Shaffer will lead the development of a patient access and coordination strategy within the health system.
She will also continue as the senior leader for home health and post-acute care.
Shaffer is a Westmoreland County native who joined Excela Health in 2011. Excela and the Butler Health System merged to create Independence Health System in 2023.
