A Butler man and woman are facing charges after they allegedly stole more than $14,000 worth of tools and equipment from an employer.
In late August police were called to Butler Flooring Contracting for an alleged theft. The owner of the business accused employee 34-year-old Cody Holt of of slowly stealing over 170 items valued at a total of $14,142.
Police acquired a search warrant for Holt’s home and served the warrant while 36-year-old Marie Holt was home.
During the search police found the alleged stolen items. Marie Holt claimed the items were not stolen to police but instead from Cody’s side business.
Both have been charged with criminal conspiracy and theft by unlawful taking and awaiting preliminary hearings.
