Some students in the Mars Area School District have collected a large amount of money as part of a fundraiser earlier this month.
Mars Area Primary Center students collected nearly $2,000 in donations to benefit the school’s Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports program.
The kindergarten and first grade classes that collected the most donations had the opportunity to toss a pie in the face of their teacher at an assembly.
The PBIS program recognizes and rewards students for acts of kindness and other positive behavior.
