Details on the impact of the state budget continues to come out and it will see continued reform for educators.
The recently passed budget will see major changes for educators in Pennsylvania according to the Department of Education.
Teacher certifications will now be PreK to 6th grade and 7th to 12th. The fee for a certification will also be lowered.
There will also reviews of literacy programs with the intent of using evidence-based reading curriculum to improve literacy deficiencies.
Another major change will see $175 million saved for school districts across the Commonwealth with Cyber Charter law reform that both Democrats and Republicans have called for.
Acting Secretary of Education Dr. Carrie Rowe in a statement said, “These are the outcomes that matter. By expanding early literacy, strengthening the educator workforce, and improving student safety, we are turning policy into real progress for learners across the Commonwealth.”
