Lawmakers in Harrisburg are considering a bill that would required high school football players to wear guardian caps.
“Guardian Caps” is an added “soft shell-shell” cover on football helmets that studies show lessen the impact on players heads.
The proposed legislation would require during practices and games, players would be required to wear the added equipment.
The bill proposed by Representative Sean Dougherty has yet to be introduced and Dougherty calls this bill “a common-sense, proactive step toward reducing preventable injuries and protecting the safety of the students who participate in one of our most widely supported school sports.”
