A proposed rate increase for water services for PA American Water has been suspended as the PUC investigates the proposal.
By a unanimous vote, the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission has decided to delay an estimated $168.7 million rate increase.
The increase would have seen a typical customer see a $20 to $27 a month increase in their bill.
The proposed start date of January 13, 2026 will now be delayed at least seven months before a decision is final.
PA American Water has requested to receive a final decision by August 2026.
