A couple of state agencies are offering grant funding to help with school safety and freight transportation.
First, the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency has announced $160 million in funding available through the Violence Intervention and Prevention (VIP) and Building Opportunity Through Out-of-School Time (BOOST) programs as well as School Safety and Mental Health grants.
Applicants including school districts and nonprofit organizations are welcome to apply through January 26th with an informational webinar happening tomorrow (Friday) at 1 p.m. for interested applicants. For more information or to apply for the webinar, visit the PCCD website.
Then, the Department of Environmental Protection is offering more than $23 million to reduce diesel emissions from freight and cargo transportation through the PA Freight Innovations in Transportation grant. The deadline to apply is tomorrow (Friday) with more information available through the Driving PA Forward website.
