A few of Butler County municipalities have been chosen to receive state funding for improvement projects.
According to State Representative Stephanie Scialabba and Senator Elder Vogel, the Commonwealth Financing Authority has approved a $300,000 Local Share Account grant for Evans City Borough to improve the culvert under West Main Street.
According to State Representative Tim Bonner, the CFA is also providing a nearly $250,000 Local Share Account program grant to replace sidewalks in Fairview Borough as well as $180,000 for Slippery Rock Borough to purchase public works equipment like a new truck.
