Counties that used the new redesigned ballot envelopes for the last election saw a decrease in rejected ballots.
Officials say the new envelopes clearly show which fields voters must fill out and where they must sign in order to reduce errors and lower rejection rates. The redesigned envelopes led to an 11 percent decrease in rejected ballots.
Secretary of the Commonwealth Al Schmidt said this was to ensure every registered voter in Pennsylvania can, “cast their vote and have it counted in every election.”
