Pennsylvania Western University is looking at the possibility of cutting a number of programs in the near future.
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is reporting that school leaders are recommending six undergraduate and four graduate programs come to an end. They also would end 34 minors.
The programs would be phased out, meaning students currently enlisted would still be able to earn their degrees, but no new students would be accepted.
The proposal comes as enrollment continues to decline at PennWest, which formed in 2022 as a merger between Edinboro, Cal, and Clarion.
