A Butler man is facing charges after he allegedly hit a child in the face.
On Sunday police were called to a home on the 500 block of South Washington Street in Butler for a reported physical domestic with a three-year-old child.
When police arrived, the mother of the child reported to police that 30-year-old Patrick Morris hit the child in the face.
The mother said that she and Morris got into a verbal argument and the child started crying during the argument. That’s when Morris allegedly hit the child in mouth.
The mother of the child also accused Morris of being drunk, claiming he had been drinking all day. Officers say they smelled alcohol on Morris when they arrived on scene.
He’s been placed in the Butler County Prison on $10,000 bail after being charged with endangering the welfare of children and simple assault. Morris is awaiting a preliminary hearing.
