Over $1 million in state funding is coming to Slippery Rock for a major upgrade to their local walkways.
State Representative Tim Bonner announced a $1.1 million multi-modal grant will be going to Slippery Rock Borough and the university. It will be for a “Community and Campus Connections Project.”
Bonner says the project will upgrade pedestrian safety by replacing aging sidewalks, adding new curbs, along with other updates.
The project will also revitalize downtown streetscaping by adding new lighting, refurbishing benches, and adding more trash bins.
