The heavy snow is finally out of the way but now the cleanup begins for residents.
The National Weather Service says the City of Butler reached just over 16 inches.
Residents north of Route 422 meanwhile saw higher totals, with some estimating they had 20 inches of accumulation.
The one-day totals were the most the Butler area has received since “Snowmageddon” of February 2010.
Crews have now been working for over 24 continuous hours trying to clear the roads.
Between PennDOT and local road crews, plows are out and now the trucks are beginning to salt.
Many of the roads are still in rough shape, although some are starting to improve. Meanwhile there could be side streets that are barely passable.
A number of private workers are also out plowing parking lots and other businesses.
