Attorney General Dave Sunday is warning residents about storm related scams.
Weather-related issues can often be the time scammers try to take advantage of people.
In an effort to avoid being a victim of a scam, Sunday’s office has provided these common tips to avoid these scam artists.
The first is to always verify any potential contractor is legitimate by calling the AG’s home improvement Registration Hotline.
Never pay with money transfer apps, such as Cash App, Venmo, Zelle, or apps of that nature.
Avoid sensationalized social media advertisements of deals that sound too good to be true and never rush into a payment.
